Getting around

If you're planning to do some site-seeing across the city and don't want to rent a car, here are some tips on ground transportation

Central Link Light Rail http://www.soundtransit.org/Schedules/Central-Link-light-rail
The new-ish light rail system in Seattle connects SEA-TAC Airport with downtown (and several stops along the way including a stop at the stadiums walking distance to the Silver Cloud Hotel).  this is a great option for getting to and from the airport--though it does take a bit longer (40-50 mins versus 20-30 minutes in a car).

Car2go - https://www.car2go.com/en/seattle/
If you aren't going far, this is a great option for getting around the city.  Sign up in advance and you can use one of these little smart cars which are parked all over the city

Uber and UberX - https://www.uber.com/cities/seattle
Download the Uber app to your smart phone and you will be able to call a town car, SUV, or uberX (their most basic service) at the touch of a button.  The app collects your credit card info so you never have to worry about having cash on you.  Fares include tip , so no tipping either.  It isn't as cheap as a cab, but the convenience is definitely worth it if you are not in an area where you can flag a cab.

Taxis
Taxi service is not the best in Seattle, but easy if you are in a busy area.  If you need to call a cab, here are a couple of options we use:

Orange Cab: (206) 522- 8800
Yellow Cab: (206) 622- 6500

Buses
From downtown Seattle, you can easily catch a bus to almost anywhere.  If you have a smartphone, we recommend downloading OneBusAway, which gives you real-time data on how long you will have to wait for your next bus.  Also, consult the King County Metro trip planner for finding the best routes to your destination: http://tripplanner.kingcounty.gov/.
